A Celebration of Evelyn Horner

This website celebrates the life and contributions of Evelyn Horner - a fiddle teacher from Northern California who has given hundreds of students a love of traditional music. Evelyn's students are National Champion fiddlers, professional touring musicians, and teachers hoping to further the traditions and standards she has set throughout her decades-long career.

Her students and friends are planning a celebration in her honor on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Senior Citizens Hall in Redding, CA from 1 to 5 p.m. Anyone whose life Evelyn has touched or whose musical path she has crossed is invited to come and tell her in person how much her influence has meant. Please share all the photos and recordings you can find and all the memories you have of this great woman.

We are so lucky that Evelyn is still playing and teaching, even though she has certainly earned the right to put her feet up and rest on her laurels. But if you know Evelyn, you know she would never let a tune go by as long as she can still play one or teach someone to play one.
